One of my "rare" oil pastel paintings that turned out oh so nice. The gold of the sun setting reflecting off of the snowy landscape was inspired by our bright, Alberta winters, and the dinosaur is so round and absurd... it doesn't even have a face. The frame makes it look fancier than it really is, giving it a ridiculously fun vibe! It's one of my favorites and I have been reluctant to make it available for sale! But I have given in to the call of the muse and have decided to finally part ways with my beloved.

This feisty orange dinosaur holds one foot up, playfully, against the setting sun that is blasting us from behind the dark blue mountains. The snowy ground is reflecting the sun rays so brightly that I want to shade my eyes from it.

The reference picture used was actually a toy, it was a pattern to sew your own plushy dinosaur toy but I do not sew. So I painted the little dinosaur and imagined it was in a field of soft green grasses on a sunny afternoon day.
